SEA is a Registered AutoCAD Developer in existence since 1989 located in Granger, Indiana near South Bend. Marcia Schaefer, president, is in charge of sales. Ted Schaefer, VP, manages programming.
SEA produces the SUPER MENU (SM) product line of AutoCAD enhancements. SM was originally developed under the name LeMenu in 1985 by Ted as owner of Applied Technical Support (ATS) in Tulsa, OK. ATS was one of the top 3% of AutoCAD dealers. LeMenu became The Menu. During AutoCAD R9 days was featured by Kurta digitizers (now Altek).
ATS was sold in 1989. SEA was then formed by Ted. In addition to SUPER MENU, SEA supplied hardware, did consulting and custom programming. Options for Machine Design, Architecture and 3D where added to The Menu and it became SUPER MENU. SEA was soon joined by Marcia. In 1991 SEA moved to Indiana.
Ted Schaefer founded ATS in 1979 as an engineering, design, and drafting service bureau with expertise in off-highway vehicles, automation and aircraft training equipment. ATS became Oklahoma's first CAD service bureau in 1982 with the acquistion of an $80K single station CAD system along with the marketing rights. So when AutoCAD became a professional CAD package, version 2.0 with the addition of object snap, ATS had the expertise and marketing in place to build a great CAD business in Oklahoma.
SEA also offers SUPER MENU Lite which is an OEM product for digitizers. Over 100,000 have been supplied with digitizers from Summagraphics, CalComp and GTCO.
In 1986 Ted wrote "The AutoCAD Produtivity Book" - the first advanced training book for AutoCAD and an immediate best seller. Ted has a physics degree from Denison University, Granville, Ohio.
Ted is originally from the east side of Cleveland, Ohio. Marcia is from Fairmont, Minnesota and has a degree in education. They are proud parents of Nathan and Daniel.
