The Machine Design Option (MDO) gives you highly automated,
productive AutoLISP routines useful for almost any machine
designer. MDO is integrated into SUPER MENU 2D Base for immediate
productivity and many useful functions not available with
AutoCAD. One general feature of MDO is that the routines make
good use of the BROWSE feature so you
don't need a hand book to look up what you need in order to draw
it. With SUPER MENU's MDO you just browse the data, say
"That's the one I want" and it is parametrically drawn
for you.
MDO is one of the most value packed/affordable collection of
time savers for machine design available anywhere. You will be
surprised at the power and polish of the routines included. Here
is a partial list of the commands:
- Sect Lines:
Automates the drawing of section lines. First, enter the
section letter. Draw a single or multi-segmented line
through the part. A final point is required to show the
direction of the arrows.
- Weld Arrows:
Produces ANSI standard welding arrows. A slide of options
will be displayed. Two letter options select the type of
weld arrow you want. After weld arrow, you add flags, all
around symbols, etc.., one or several.
- Slot:
All method of drawing straight and radial slots.
- Draw Holes:
You can use the built in database for standards holes and
threads or design your own.
- Threads Draws:
screw threads in actual, pictorial or simplified views.
This routine uses BROWSE to allow selection from standard
data tables.
- Flange Automates:
the drawing of flanges, tapped/threaded holes and
circular bolt hole patterns and single holes with center
lines.
- Iso Dimimensions:
Draws ANSI standard, horizontal and vertical isometric
dimensions and leaders with the arrows and text at the
proper slant.
- Hole Chart:
Allows you select to circles in your drawing, sorts them
according to size, numbers them and builds a chart. You
can enter a description of each hole in the chart.
- MassProp:
Calculates the section properties of a region, uses
BROWSE to view the information and places a snap point at
the centroid.
- Geo Tol:
Constructs Geometric tolerances for R12.
- Bill Of Material:
Automates placing part identifiers with attribute
information. Then the attributes are extracted, sorted
and a BOM is drawn. You can quickly revise and generate
an intermediate parts list as you go. A text file is
created so that part information is available for other
programs.
- AutoOrd:
Provides fully or semi-automated (confirmed) ordinate
(datum) dimensions. Select only the features you want
dimensioned by window. This routine will draw 100
dimensions in 60 seconds or you can confirm each one.
Dimensions are associative. With this routine there is
1000:1 productivity gain!
- Part/Assys:
This is a collection of layer management tools that group
graphic entities together into logical groups without
making blocks. The groups can then be grouped as an
assembly. Parts or assemblies can be selected for
standard editing. The R13 version adds an optional toggle
for using AutoCAD's Group feature.
- DimStyles:
With MDO you get a system for maintaining dimension
tolerances and unit types while stretching or updating
dimensions. It even keeps track of the decimal precision
and type of units.
- Chain & Sprockets:
Designs/draws single sprockets or a sprocket drive pair.
When drawing a pair, exact centers are calculated, and
error trapping keeps you from placing the second sprocket
too close. Once the center distance is establish, you can
freely rotate the second sprocket around the first.
Typical time to design a chain drive is 60 seconds.
- Gears:
Is a system for drawing and designing spur gears,
internal gears, racks and drive pairs.
- Springs:
Designs and draws extension and compression springs based
on force and size requirements.
- Belts:
Draws the center line of a belt or chain around sheaves
and calculates the length. Draws standard sheaves.
Designs drive systems similar to Chains & Sprockets.
- Data:
Files MDO adds to the database collection: Motors,
Formulas, Steel, and Materials.
- Bearings:
Crossections of common bearings parametrically drawn.
Including, ball, angular contact ball, spherical, needle
and thrust. Also common pillow block bearings.
- Symbol Libraries:
MDO includes Fastener, Hydraulic & Pneumatics,
Electrical libraries. Optional libraries: Isometric
Fasteners, Electronic, and 2D piping schematics.
- VwLineS:
Draws construction lines in other orthographic views.
Speeds 2D view constructions. (R13)
- Grooves::
Draws grooves and keyways
- DimCheck:
Checks the validity of Associative dimensions.
